Arnold & Richter Cine Technique GmbH & Co. KG operation (short ARRI ) is a Munich-based group of companies. It gives, produces and distributes digital and mechanical equipment for film production. The range of its products include lamps, digital cameras, such as mechanical, imagesetter and scanner and camera accessories. Also be distributed lenses, tripods, software and recorder.
Built in 1914, Arnold August and Robert Richter cinema projector with a manual to an electric motor attached to a brighter light source and a homemade arc lamp added. In addition, the two 60-m-drums replaced by a self-built 300-m-drum. Both studied at the Technical University of Munich and finished her studies as a graduate of Mechanical Engineers.

He last worked in Hollywood as an assistant cameraman in the studio of William Fox . He returned to Germany.
On 12 September 1917 the two founded the firm Arnold & Richter . First, business objects “filming” and “the operation of a photo-and film-chemical laboratory” were. Money was earned through camera work, film screenings and mechanical works. The first own copy machine was built to last copy themselves. However, ARRI has been known by that of Erich Kaestner led development of the mirror shutter in film cameras. By 1937, the Arriflex presented mirror shutter , it was possible, through the optical viewfinder with no parallax error to see the exact image detail and sharpness of the distribution.

For copies of movies sold since 2005 ARRI digital cinema mastering, including Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs). At the International Broadcast Conference in September 2008, the ARRI ARRIQCP (ARRI Quality Control Player) before. Besides playback functionality of the DCPs for DCPs can SMPTE – and DCI are verified compatibility. The device was developed in collaboration with Cinecert LLC.
ARRI 2010 received an honorary award at the German Camera Award for its technical innovations and its merits in the international film.
